TREATMENT SATISFACTION

Survey and data analysis from adolescent and parent Satisfaction Questionnaires began in 1984. Results confirm a consistent level of success and high satisfaction. We continue to be uniquely successful in utilizing a family therapy focus approach. Our clients reflect highly of family involvement with adolescents in treatment and the connectedness they experience with the Institute. It is this process of family members participating in decisions and the course of treatment that is the basis of the continued success of the Institute.

TREATMENT SATISFACTION QUESTIONNAIRES

ADOLESCENT RESPONSES:

At the time of admission, they reported severe or extreme individual and family problems. (96%)
Previous treatment (outpatient and/or inpatient) did not help. (99%)
"Family members got along better" after treatment at AFIC. (92%)
Adolescents reported "positive experiences and impressions" of their Primary Therapist. (96%)
Adolescents reported "very satisfied" with their treatment at AFIC and felt very much better about themselves. (100%)
Adolescents reported they and their parents "benefited a great deal" from treatment at AFIC. (95%)
Adolescents document a positive and significant treatment experience especially with their Primary Therapists, Resident Supervisor Mentors. (98%)

COMMENTS FROM ADOLESCENTS:

I was satisfied with this treatment, just wish I would’ve been more open in the beginning.
I couldn’t really imagine a more positive outcome.
If I would have started treatment earlier that would have been better.

PARENT RESPONSES:

90% of families had treatment for their adolescent previous to AFIC.
83% of parents felt that the outcome of their previous treatment resulted in a "no change" or "got worse" condition!
98% of parents felt that their experience with AFIC was "much or "very much better" than their previous treatment(s).
99% of parents identified their level of satisfaction with AFIC procedures and techniques as very effective" including: Family Therapy Model, Daily Program Structure, Staff-Patient Interactions, Nutritional Services, Parents' Day, Parents' Survival and Educational Groups, School Program, Adolescent Group Sessions and Medical Psychiatric Care.
100% of parents identified that they "would not have benefited equally from a less intense level of care".
96% of parents evaluated their "overall experiences" with AFIC as "much or significant satisfaction".
89% of our admissions have been referred by former AFIC clients, by health care management groups, or community resource agencies.

I wish, in hindsight we had searched for this type of help 5 years ago. IP would have benefitted and it would have made a huge difference for the rest of our family.
We thought she needed medication and had extreme anxiety and depression. Now she is off medication and back in school. Problem was family dynamics.

I had serious doubts that any treatment would be effective for him. He was completely turned around and has become highly functioning and happier. His attitude is consistent with remaining drug free and maintaining good relationships with his mother and me.
